Daphne is located in Baldwin County, Alabama, approximately 10 miles east of Mobile and 50 miles northwest of Pensacola, Florida. Situated atop bluffs overlooking the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, Daphne is home to a population of more than 24,000 residents who enjoy the excellent schools, safe streets, and outstanding community amenities that make it one of Baldwin County’s most desirable places to live.

The city is served by the Baldwin County Public School System and is located within 20 miles of several colleges and universities that include the University of Mobile, James H. Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette, and the University of South Alabama in Mobile. The city’s robust economy owes much of its success to a dynamic and well-educated workforce, of which more than 40% hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and is boosted by a host of economic amenities that include low unemployment, rising home appreciation rates, and median household incomes in the 60s.

Daphne’s humid subtropical climate produces hot summers and moderately cool winters – perfect weather for enjoying the fabulous opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation that dominate the region. The city is home to six municipal parks and several recreation facilities that include the Daphne Civic Center, a multi-functional convention and performing arts venue that features meeting rooms, exhibit halls, galleries, and a state-of-the-art auditorium and sound stage.

Village Point Park Preserve is the largest of the city’s parks. Situated on 54 acres of woodlands, wetlands, and streams, the park features nature trails, boardwalks, and wildlife viewing areas and is home to Jackson’s Oak, one of the largest and oldest live oak trees in the state of Alabama.

Daphne celebrates the Jubilee Festival each September in Olde Towne Daphne. Hosted by the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, the two-day event features a juried art show, arts and crafts, live entertainment, and Kids Art in the Park, a special program designed to introduce children to a variety of creative art techniques.

Strategically situated along Interstate 10, just 35 miles north of the Alabama Gulf Coast, Daphne is a great place to experience the pleasures and delights of South Alabama living!
