Loxley is located in central Baldwin County, Alabama, approximately 20 miles east of Mobile and 40 miles west of Pensacola, Florida. Originally established in 1870, the city is currently home to a population of more than 2,000 residents who enjoy the safe streets, fabulous seasonal climate, and friendly small town atmosphere that makes it such a great place to live.

Loxley is served by the Baldwin County Public School District and is located within 25 miles of a number of colleges and universities that include James H. Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette and the University of South Alabama in Mobile.

Situated along Interstate 10, midway between the cities of Mobile and Pensacola, Loxley serves as the gateway to Gulf Shores and the Alabama Gulf Beaches. The city is home to Burris Farm Market, a renowned family-owned farmers market and local landmark that has been serving the Baldwin County community since 1986. Known throughout the south for its fruit cobblers, key lime pie, and fresh strawberry shortcake, the market is visited by thousands of travelers each year as they make their way south to the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores.

Golfers can hit the links at Steelwood Country Club, an award-winning 18-hole championship golfing facility that has been ranked among the best courses in the state by Golf Digest. Facility amenities include a fitness center, pro shop, swimming pool, tennis courts, and first-class accommodations at the Stewart Lodges, two fully furnished lodges overlooking a 200-acre freshwater lake that are perfect for corporate and private events.

Race fans can enjoy short track racing at Deep South Speedway, a 4/10 mile oval dirt track raceway situated just north of I-10 that features street stock and sprint car racing March through November.

Loxley hosts the annual Baldwin County Strawberry Festival, a popular 2-day event held the second weekend of each April that features live entertainment, carnival rides, children’s games, car and tractor shows, and more than 180 arts and crafts exhibitors from around the state.
